Which gate should I use, and what do I need to get on base?
Nimitz Gate off Nimitz Highway is the main 24-hour gate for Pearl Harbor and hosts the Visitor Control Center (Building 3455, 1240 South Drive, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday). O'Malley Gate is the main Hickam entrance and is also 24 hours. A CAC gets you through; visitors and contractors need a pass from the VCC, so bring a REAL ID, orders, and registration.
How far is the base from the airport?
About two miles. Daniel K. Inouye International (HNL) shares a runway with Hickam Field, and the O'Malley and Nimitz gates are a 10-minute drive from the rental car center. The Skyline rail also runs from the airport's Lelepaua station to the Makalapa JBPHH station for $3.
