Three things to check before you book

  1. Government lodging first. Get the non-availability number in writing if on-base is full — here's how.
  2. Longer stays. Check seasonal rates and your travel authorization. Duration alone does not trigger the former long-term flat-rate reduction.
  3. Receipts. Nightly rate, dates, taxes, zero balance. A booking confirmation is not a receipt.
