Fighter B-Course

The basic course in your fighter — F-35 at Luke, F-16 at Holloman/Kelly, F-15E at Seymour Johnson, A-10 at Davis-Monthan, F-22 at Langley — and the longest TDY most fighter pilots ever take.

How lodging works on this pipeline

B-Course students are typically TDY-en-route, which makes lodging a per diem question. Confirm the applicable lodging allowance, seasonal rate changes and any government-lodging requirements with your travel office before you book. A stay exceeding 30 days does not by itself trigger the former 75% or 55% flat-rate reduction.

On-base lodging is routinely full during class cycles; the non-availability number is the normal path to a house near the gate priced at the cap.

Questions

B-Course FAQ

Is a B-Course TDY or PCS?
Most are TDY-en-route to the gaining unit, so per diem funds lodging. Some students are PCS'd to the training base — check your orders.
Can I use a crashpad for a whole B-Course?
Yes — that's what they're built for. We verify your applicable lodging allowance, provide itemized receipts after payment, and review extensions when your orders change. Reimbursement depends on your authorization and eligible expenses.
